Where: Van Nuys, CA

When: December 2004 - April 2009

What:  Enhanced modular and flexible design setups and equipment in a new consolidated custom-remodeled layout 185,000 square foot manufacturing facility for over 22 independent 10-person assembly production lines, quality control stations, and packaging stations using time studies, observations, and first-hand experience. Researched and implemented new tools, technology, and equipment to assist the workers engaged in multiple remanufacturing assembly lines.

  • Spearheaded a custom barcode scanning equipment and software implementation to track the identification, movement tracking, quality control station operations, packaging station assignments, and progress to produce up to more than 10,000 printer cartridges per work shift.

  • Oversaw build-out and consolidation of multiple company facilities and operations into one large facility. Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to direct architect, general contractors, tradespeople, and local city government activities to develop, submit, and gain approval of plans for the design and development of a large-scale interior and exterior facility tenant improvement project.

  • Architected and implemented more than ½ a mile in length of an automated conveyor and packaging line with people/equipment bridges, gates, and cross-over belts for the movement of printer cartridges from all production lines to the quality control stations, and finally to assigned packaging stations using custom-designed totes with laser barcode scanners, automated gates, automated & manual diverter lanes, and waiting loops to hold excess and allow for leveling of tasks and jobs and increase overall manufacturing rates by 200%.
